A legal disclaimer
Effective Date: June 27, 2025
At Jefferson Tax Relief Co., we are committed to providing high-quality tax resolution services and a positive client experience. Our refund policy is designed to be transparent, fair, and compliant with professional service standards.
1. Non-Refundable Services
Because our services involve time, expertise, and immediate allocation of resources, all payments for consultations, case reviews, and service retainers are non-refundable, unless otherwise stated in writing.
2. Case Evaluation & Retainer Fees
Initial fees paid for case evaluation or to initiate services (such as retainers or investigative work) are used to perform work on your behalf immediately after payment is received. These payments cover professional time and administrative costs and are non-refundable once work has begun.
3. Service-Based Refunds
If you cancel services before any substantive work has been performed, you may be eligible for a partial refund, minus administrative fees and the value of any work already completed. Determinations are made at our sole discretion.
4. No Guarantee of Outcome
By law, we cannot and do not guarantee specific results such as IRS or state acceptance of an Offer in Compromise, penalty abatement, or approval of any tax relief request. Therefore, refunds are not granted based on dissatisfaction with outcomes.

Refund Policy - the basics
Having said that, a Refund Policy is a legally binding document that is meant to establish the legal relations between you and your customers regarding how and if you will provide them with a refund. Online businesses selling products are sometimes required (depending on local laws and regulations) to present their product return policy and refund policy. In some jurisdictions, this is needed in order to comply with consumer protection laws. It may also help you avoid legal claims from customers that are not satisfied with the products they purchased.
What to include in the Refund Policy
Generally speaking, a Refund Policy often addresses these types of issues: the timeframe for asking for a refund; will the refund be full or partial; under which conditions will the customer receive a refund; and much, much more.
